Job Title: General Laborer I

What You’ll Do: The General Laborer will complete various tasks to support the production of transformer coils.

In this Function You Will

  • Prepare, collect, and distribute to operators all materials required to wind coils.
  • Perform a variety of direct and indirect tasks to optimize product flow and maximize the productivity of the coil winders.
  • Verify that issued materials are the proper size/part number and check for damage and proper quantity.
  • Return all unused materials to their designated locations ensuring that materials are properly marked so that inventory accuracy is maintained. Move finished coils to proper oven area.
  • Operate several machines for sizing, cutting, and drilling materials used in the winding process.
  • Assemble kits for coil orders and fills bins of stock coil materials.
  • Squeeze coils with hydraulic jacks or press. Load and unload coils on to conveyor and pallets or proper rack to bake in industrial ovens.
  • Set-up, load, and operate a core machine, which includes a repeated repetitive motion of stacking multiple sizes of sheet metal into a core. Checking material for damage and proper size using a micrometer and tape measure.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Waukesha, WI facility. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution. •Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to interpret prints, applicable engineering, safety instructions, maintenance and operating instructions, and quality specifications.
